WWOM-TV New Orleans

WWOM-TV began broadcasting on October 14, 1967 on Channel 26 in New Orleans. It was the first independent station in the market. The station struggled, however, and was bought out of bankruptcy in 1971. A year later it changed its call letters to WGNO. It was a charter affiliate of the WB network in 1995 and less than a year later became an ABC affiliate.
