WPIG in Cincinnati

You don't have to be from Cincinnati to love WKRP in Cincinnati. Based on Atlanta radio station WQXI, Cincinnati was chosen as the home of the fictitious station at random, as producers sought a more Midwestern location. "Cincinnati" also flowed well with the made-up call letters. The most famous episode of course is "Turkeys Away," which features that final hilarious line: "As God as my witness, I thought Turkeys could fly."  WPIG is mentioned often as the top station in the market and as WKRP's main competitor. We get to see the WPIG team, wearing their station logo shirts on the Season Two episode "Baseball," in which the two stations play softball.  CN14887
