ToyBiz was founded in Montreal in 1988 as Charan Toys and became known for producing action figures, as well as plush and role-play toys of various licensed brands and characters. It primarily produced toys for Marvel Entertainment who became a majority owner in 1998. The name of the company was later changed to Marvel Toys and stayed in business until 2007. Rival Hasbro assumed most of the company's licenses.
