Tewligans was probably the most famous establishment to call 1047 Bardstown Road home. Until 1981 it was a biker bar called The Cherokee. After becoming Tewligans, it hosted local, regional, and national rock acts. While it didn ??t have as long a history as The Toy Tiger a few miles down the road, it did bring in many of the biggest musical acts of the ??80s and early ??90s including R.E.M., U2, 10,000 Maniacs, Pearl Jam and more. In 1996 it became a restaurant called Cahoots which closed in early 2017. The space is now an upscale eatery called Nirvana. Columbus, OH-based Royal Crescent Mob performing at Tewligans
