The Portland Pride were charter members of the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL) and played in all five of the league's seasons (1993-1997). They made the play-offs in their first season, but did not qualify in their remaining campaigns. Still, they averaged almost 6,000 fans a game at Memorial Coliseum. After the CISL folded, the Pride along with a few other former league members, helped form the Premier Soccer Alliance (later called the World Indoor Soccer League), which began play in 1998. Before the start of the PSA's first season, the Pride changed their name to the Pythons. They folded after the 1999 season.
