The New York Arrows were charter members of the original Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) in 1978. They played their home games at the Nassau County Coliseum on Long Island. Though successful on the indoor pitch, winning four championships, the Arrows had trouble drawing fans and folded in 1984. In 1986, the Express was established but only lasted half a season before folding.
