New Jersey Americans ABA

Established in 1967, the New Jersey Americans were charter members of the American Basketball Association (ABA). After just one season in the Garden State, they moved to Long Island and became the New York Nets. They returned to New Jersey in 1977 after the National Basketball Association absorbed four ABA teams, including the Nets. In 2012 the team moved to Brooklyn.
