Milwaukee Baseball American Association

Before major league baseball arrived in Milwaukee in 1953, the city hosted a team in the American Association (AA) starting in 1902.?? A minor league, the AA became an A level circuit in 1903. In 1912, it was designated AA and in 1945, it?? moved up to AAA, the highest level below the majors. The team won five league titles (1913, 1914, 1936,1947, 1951). When Boston's senior circuit team moved to town, the AAA team packed their bags and headed to Toledo. The current Milwaukee baseball team shares the old minor league club's name.
