Los Angeles Bulldogs

The Los Angeles Bulldogs were formed in 1936 with hopes of joining the National Football League. When their efforts were rebuffed, they played as in independent team before joining the rival American Football League (II) for the 1937 season. They proceeded to run the table, winning all eight league contests and capturing the AFL title. The following season, the AFL was gone and the Bulldogs played on as an independent team before joining the Pacific Coast professional Football league in 1940. The team folded with the rest of the league in 1948.
