Lexington Mall opened in 1975. It featured three anchors ad 48 inline stores. For a time it was very popular, even though it wasn't big as the competing Fayette Mall a few malls away. The redevelopment of that shopping center, though, led to the demise of the Lexington Mall. It closed in 2005 and was replaced by a megachurch.
