Jacksonville fielded a team called the Sharks in the first season of the World Football League??in 1974. Owned by a women's undergarments magnate, they lasted just 14 games before sinking in a sea of debt. The following season, a new group of owners established the Express, but that team went under with the rest of the league 11 games into the 1975 season.
