Houston ThunderBears

The Texas Terror joined the Arena Football League in 1996 as an expansion team. They played their home games at the Compaq Center (formerly the Houston Summit). In 1998, the team changed its name to the??Houston ThunderBears.??While the team had the pro football market to itself for much of the six years it was in existence, following the departure if the NFL Oilers in 1997, the arena squad struggled at the gate nonetheless and folded in 2001 just before the arrival of the NFL Texans in 2002.
