The Houston Apollos played in the Central Hockey League (CHL) from 1965 to 1969 and were the farm team of the NHL Montreal Canadiens. In 1969, the team was moved to Montreal and renamed the Voyageurs. In 1971, they moved to Halifax, retaining the Voyageurs nickname. After the Aeros of the World Hockey Association folded in 1978, the Apollos name was revived in 1979. That incarnation of the team played for a season and a half in in the CHL before folding.
