One of the most storied clubs in the city's history, the Electric Banana opened in the '70s as a discotheque. In 1980, it became a punk rock club and went on to host such famous national acts as Husker Du, Black Flag, the Circle Jerks, and the Dead Milkmen, as well local favorites Half Life and the Cynics. It closed in 2000 and later became an Italian restaurant.
