In 1952, a group of Texas millionaires led by brothers Giles and Connell Miller purchased the assets, including the roster, of the New York Yanks football team, which had been sold back to the NFL at the end of the 1951 season. The Millers and their partners formed the Dallas Texans. Their homefield was the Cotton Bowl, and the team played only one season, 1952. They won only one game. With five games left in the season, the Millers returned the team to the league. The team was sold again, this time to a group from Baltimore who re-established the Colts, who had folded after the 1950 season. The Texans are the last NFL to team to fold.
