Covington Landing was an entertainment complex along the Ohio River at the end of Madison Avenue. It sat on barges and featured national and local bars and eateries, as well as a riverboat and other attractions. It opened in 1990 to much fanfare and was well attended for the first few years it was open. By the turn of the century, though, it was struggling and had to be taken over by the city. After storms and heavy rain caused debris to slam into and damage the barrages, Covington abandoned any hope of salvaging the property and sold it all for scrap.
