Artists Raphaela Pivetta, Charles McKenna,?? and Robin Hirsch opened the Cornelia Street Cafe in 1977 at 29 Cornelia St., between Bleecker and West Fourth streets. Back then it was a small art gallery and performance space. With only a??toaster oven, a cappuccino machine, and a refrigerator display case, the establishment went to be one of the most iconic eateries in the city.
