Captain Penny

Captain Penny entertained children weekdays at noon on Channel 5 in Cleveland from 1955 to 1971, showing cartoons and talking to the occasional in-studio guest. Around the holidays, Mr. Jingeling would stop by frequently. Captain Penny was portrayed by Ron Penfound who originally had hopes of becoming a priest in the Episcopal Church before developing an interest in broadcasting. His easy-going manner was popular with his young viewers, and he always reminded them at the end of his program:??"You can fool some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but you can???t fool Mom.
