The Baltimore Hustlers were the relocated Memphis Sounds and were scheduled to play in the American Basketball Association in 1975. Shortly after the team's new nickname was announced it was changed to the Claws in response to local opposition as well as pressure from the league. The team played three exhibition games as the Claws before folding.
