The Outlaws were members of the original XFL in 2001 season, that league's only season. The team finished with 4 wins and 6 losses while averaging 22,000 fans a game at Sam Boyd Stadium. The Outlaws hosted the first nationally televised XFL game on NBC against the New York/New Jersey Hitmen, on February 3, 2001. One of the Outlaws' players made it to the NFL: Rod "He Hate Me" Smart, who played for one season with Philadelphia and four with Carolina.
