The idea of creating healthier fast food goes all the back to the '70s and D'Lites of America. Based in suburban Atlanta, this chain offered a menu of Êreduced-calorie dishes, including hamburgers made with lean beef, high-fiber buns, and lreduced-calorie cheese. It closed in 1987 with several locations being converted into Hardee's restaurants.
