Established in 1910, along with sibling school Kent State, this university was first known as Bowling Green State Normal School and primarily concentrated on producing school teachers. It became Bowling Green State University in 1935. It's official colors of burn orange and seal brown were later mimicked by Cleveland's professional football team who held their training camp there for several years starting in 1946.
